Summary: The Fellowship of the Ring is the first installment in J.R.R. Tolkien’s gripping fantasy epic series. The book begins following a young hobbit; hobbits are tiny, in stature and sometimes in brains, nonetheless this hobbit is the main character of the book, and his name is Frodo Baggins. Frodo has long been friends with a wizard named Gandalf the Grey, and Frodo has also long been mentored by Bilbo Baggins, Frodo’s uncle that was rumored to possess a special ring that made the wearer invisible. Little did anyone know, that this ring did much more than make you invisible, this ring had the power to dominate all mankind, and all the ring was every trying to do was get back to its master, Sauron, who resided in the evil land of Mordor. Sadly, before Bilbo knew this, he passed the ring down to Frodo, after this happened, Frodo lived in the Shire happily for another fifteen years or so before Gandalf discovered the true identity of the ring. After being warned about the ring, it is decided that Frodo would take flight to Rivendell, one of the last great elven-cities remaining in Middle Earth. From Rivendell, it is decided that Frodo, accompanied by eight companions, would travel to Mordor, to destroy the ring in the only place it could e destroyed. This place was the Mountain of Doom, the place it was also created.
